Project, teams, requirements & duties
What you will be working on?
- Managing SQL Server databases (on-prem and in Azure, including Managed Instances)
- Configuration and upgrade of database servers
- Monitoring system’s health and critical performance related metrics,ensuring high levels of availability
- Migrating databases to cloud (target being VM, Managed Instance or Azure SQL db)
- Troubleshooting issues affecting db servers in cooperation with other teams when required
What do we expect from you?
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing MS SQL servers, whether on-prem, on VM in cloud, or Azure Managed Instances
- Strong engineering instinct (do the right thing), a deep understanding of computer science
- Good, direct communication with customers and stakeholders
- Human-centric attitude, deep analytical mindset
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Advanced level of English-speaking proficiency
Nice to have:
- Experience with managing Oracle servers
- Experience with working in Azure cloud
- AI assisted coding tools
Our teams
Depending on the project, our teams consist of frontend and backend developers, test automation engineers, DevOps engineers, and a delivery manager (scrum master), while the product owner is client-side. We use Scrum as a framework for project management – we hold daily standup meetings where every team member can have a say.
